Why scoop poop?
Most people think that dog poop washes away in a week or two.  The reality is that it can take one year to break down. Dog poop left to accumulate, endangers the health of your family and your pet; it is a breeding ground for disease and disease-carrying pets.

How am I billed for service?

Payment for first time and one time cleanups is due when service is rendered. Continuing service is billed on a prepaid basis one month in advance. A typical example: invoice is mailed January 10th, due February 1st, for all cleaning services scheduled during February. When you start service, the prorated balance for the rest of the current month will be due, and the following month’s service will be invoiced. We accept checks, cash, money orders, and Paypal.

A $10.00 late charge is assessed if payment is not received by the due date. A $25.00 charge will be assessed for returned checks.

How do you handle holidays?
We take the following holidays off: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your service date is scheduled on a holiday, we will service your yard on the next scheduled service day. Credits for holidays are not issued because there is typically twice as much waste to clean up when service is resumed

Do I need to sign a contract?
No long term contract is necessary, although we do ask that you sign a statement that:

1. Gives us permission to come onto your property on service days.
2. Outlines the rate structure and billing terms.
3. States that service is month to month and may be cancelled anytime by either party.

How do you dispose of the waste?
Waste is disposed in accordance with city, county and state regulations. We take it with us when we leave! This is included as part of your regular monthly service.  Since dogs are carnivores, their waste is protein based and harmful to lawns. Unlike sheep, cows and chickens, there is no commercial use for it. Yet!

Do you work when it rains or snows?
Yes, in light or periodic rain (or snow!) The only time we can't is if it's so muddy or frozen it would damage your lawn, or if there's too much snow to see any accumulated droppings. We’ll also suspend work during lightning, hail and tornado warnings!

If we miss a day because of weather we will resume service as soon as possible. Credits for bad weather days are not given because there will typically be twice as much accumulation of waste to clean up when service resumes.

Must I be there when you service my yard?
The first time, we'd like to meet you and your animals so we can all get acquainted. After that, we don't require that you be there, although you're always welcome to check up on our work.

Do I have to leave my gate unlocked?
Since we're not allowed to climb over fences, we can handle this a few ways: You can provide a combination to your own lock, or we'll provide a 4-digit combination lock at no cost to you.

Our locks remain the property of Johnson County Pet Concierge and will incur a $10.00 replacement fee if not returned in working order at termination of services. You can also leave your gate unlocked on service days if that's your preference.

Can you work with my dog (dogs) in the yard?
Almost always, yes! We like animals and are comfortable with most dogs. However, if your dog is territorial or aggressive we may ask you to confine the animal on service days.

What about diseases and other health concerns?
Several parasites like to live in animal fecal matter. Some of these can be transmitted to humans or other animals. We disinfect our tools and shoes before servicing every yard to keep your family and pets safe. We use Ken-Care, a kennel disinfectant used by vets that kills Parvo, distemper, Pseudorabies, Newcastle and other viruses. We will notify you as soon as possible if we ever see any evidence of worms, parasites or eggs in your animal’s droppings.

How does your "Satisfaction Guarantee" work?
We pride ourselves on our excellent service and want to make sure you're happy with our work! If you are not satisfied with our service for any reason, notify us within 24 hours  and we will come back and make the job right, or we won't bill you for that service day. We value you as a customer and we're more than willing to work with you to resolve any issues that may arise.

Do you have a discount or referral service?
Yes! We will give you a $15.00 discount on your bill when you refer a new customer who signs up for continuing (weekly or every-other-week) service. We also offer 10% off services to Senior Citizens and owners of service animals.

How can we be sure that you have been in my yard?
First, you'll notice your nice clean yard! Also, we leave dog biscuits and a service notice on your front porch. We may leave a note on the service notice if there is something that needs to be addressed, like a broken gate, aggressive dog, evidence of worms, parasites or eggs in droppings.
